My name is Paul Hastings, and I have put up this page to give you some background information about me and my association with Pilgrim recordings.
As I have been using them, or selling them or giving them to clients for over twenty-five years and have used the subliminal recording for thousands of hours, I do have some experience as too the results that can be realised by you.
I have always been interested in certain things martial arts, yoga and magick ( yes, spelt correctly) even from an early age.
I started my journey with hypnosis around the age of eight when a friend at school sold me a hypno-disk and small instruction booklet that his dad had got him from the USA.
You may even remember seeing these adds fifty years ago in some magazines.
I began to play, and it was not long before I was hypnotising friends at school and playing all the games an eight-year-old does.
I started to buy anything I could on hypnosis and various kinds of mind control and especially Raja Yoga and Magick, much of it, as it still is today was total rubbish.
Something I understood later was to learn from people who know what they are doing, who have done the drills and mastered the skills.
I did notice down the years that hypnosis and other techniques that I used in many areas of my life, however getting consistency was always a problem, and many of the things I was reading about I was just unable to do, no matter how dedicated I was to training, as I was advised to do.
However, the years moved on, and I find myself in 1989 enrolling in a course on hypno-analyses in 1990 I qualified as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and started a private practice in Leamington Spa about a year later.
I was excited and asked a friend who is also a hypnotist how I could become brilliant; I was young.
He suggested I contact some old guy called Duncan McColl who was excellent (exceptional and out of the ordinary, I seem to remember something about transcending the natural, it took me a few years to realise how far ahead of this time he was, sorry boss.) and sold some fantastic hypnosis tapes that I could learn from.
While training as a hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist I had listened to many different hypnosis tapes and wondered how these might be different, they all seemed the same old hat.
However, I trusted my friend's opinion.
He was trained as a biologist and was a scientist.
He researched and tested what he believed and did many experiments and reality checkers against stuff.
A skill I later used after mastering NLP. (Thanks to Richard Bandler,)
So in 1990 I rang Duncan McColl of Pilgrim Tapes and started one of the most amazing relationships I have had, so far. He recommended a tape called "love awareness" a few days later it arrived.
It blew me away and still does today.
A deep, profound understanding as to the differences between men and women, and how as men we usually mess up our relationships due to insecurities, childhood dependencies and ignorance, by the way, women do the same thing.
A deeper understanding as to the fluid diamantes of interpersonal relationships between the sexes. Cool stuff.
We usually are taught about relationships and sex by people who are no good at it and have no real understanding of pleasure and joy.
Just look at the married people you know.
How many are truly happy and content? Not many.
Within a year or so I had most of Duncan's recordings and my life was changed forever.
His approach was not that of the typical hypnotist who back in those days mainly used suggestion therapy, these tapes seemed to go way beyond that.
The results he got were also mind-blowing, especially with healing and the more unusual areas.
This was something, which later I specialised in, the unusual stuff.
What impressed me most was that he used what he taught, he walked the talk.
I discovered that unlike many recordings some of his took three months to make.
Each word was scripted to ensure maximum impact with our control level of mind. Our subconscious mind, "The Boss."
"The Boss" is where we store all of our automatic processes and much of what and who we think and feel we are is not what we have chosen, we have all been conditioned by parents, friends society and religious conditioning, as well as running old outdated programs that a younger less experienced and ignorant "us" may have chosen.
We also have to contend with outdated survival programs that may have been useful when we were reptiles or less advanced species, or babies or young dependent children, however, they are not as useful in today's world.
Unless you enjoy being a pain in the ass of others. Many do as they mistake, attention for someone giving a toss, a bit like a puppy who will pee on the carpet in front of you to get attention.
We all know people like that.
Much of Duncan's work was involved in this area, of us programming what we want the computer between our ears to do, that is our responsibility, and often that does take some growing up and emotional maturity and control.
It involves resilience, not being a victim, being tremendous and living honour, and being responsible for the lives we choose to build.
Something very few do today. Preferring to blame others for there failure.
SJW, Feminists, and the easily triggered. Babys who need safe spaces.
It is for this reason that the recordings fit in very well with emotional freedom therapy and techniques and the Stoics common sense approach to life.
For the next fifteen years or so Duncan continued to poke, guide, advise and teach me how to play I was beginning to learn how to do things with consistency. Many of his recordings induced massive shifts in my thinking and awareness. Not always comfortable, but necessary.
As he continued to develop his skills and knowledge and continuously refine his product, I joined in, testing recordings, playing with new stuff and during this time qualified as a trainer with Duncan in his system of "Precision Therapy" and went on to train a few precision therapists for him.
Duncan always encouraged me to go and find out, a habit I still enjoy to this day. It leads to some incredible learning experiences and insights. During this time I was lucky enough to study and learn from such people as:
John Seamore, Neil French, Tony Robbins, Dr Richard Bandler, Ross Jeffries, John Lavelle, Kathleen Lavelle, Dr Yates Canipe, Paul McKenna, Michael Breen, Tom Vizzini, Major Mark Cummings, Kim McFadden. Carl Dawson and the mind-blowing Dr Jack La Tourrette.
"The Doc" introduced me to Silvia mind method and Huna. Two systems that I later learnt played a large part in the impact of Pilgrim Recordings.
It seems Duncan had been there before. Not surprising really.
Much of the new information was discussed and analysed with Duncan who added what he felt would be useful to his clients and he began to revamp many of his subliminal recordings with dramatic effect.
The pilgrim whispers subs being some of my favourites.
The court is still out on subliminal; some think they don't work, others have had great benefit from using them, I am in the camp of those who have had great success with them.
The more I learnt, the smarter I realised he was, the depth of wisdom on his recordings is profound, and I still listen to many twenty five years later.
Many are like returning to great old books and wondering why you missed that first time around, of course, you have grown and evolved.
I always recommend the stress, love awareness, understanding parents and fears recordings.
Most people can achieve what they desire by using these.
So what do I do these days, well I still help people using a mixture of Hypnosis, NLP, EFT, Effective Stoic Processes and attitudes and learnt skills? Huna and Energy Psychology?
I still have a practice in Leamington Spa, and most of my clients use Duncan's recordings as I still find them some of the most valuable tools available for personal change.
Until I make my own combining all I learnt from Duncan and all the other amazing masters he asked me to learn from, to increase his knowledge and skills.
I still practice martial arts, yoga and a few other things and these days enjoy cycling for fun and health.
Although due to a severe back injury, this has reduced, as I am no longer able to do many things I once enjoyed.
However, this has given me invaluable insight as too just how effective these techniques can be.
Pain control, changing self-concept, esteem and adjusting to reality.
I also still practice ferret juggling realities for fun and profit.
